Montgomery
County Family YMCA Press Release (Red Oak, Iowa)
August, 2016
The Montgomery County Family YMCA and the Red Oak Rotary Club continue to strengthen their partnership together with their tremendous support of the YMCA. The Rotary Club made a recent donation of $1,140 through our 80% share of the can/bottle program coordinated by the efforts of the YMCA for the month of July. This is through the programming efforts with the Red Oak Rotary Club and Red Oak Optimist Club can/bottle shed just southeast of the Fareway Grocery Store in Red Oak. The Rotary Club earned $318 for the month of July. The Rotary Club will use their portion of the money to assist with high school senior scholarships to higher education awards, and community, area, national and word-wide projects to make our world a better place to live, work, and play in.
All proceeds will be placed into the YMCA’s The Y. “For a better us” annual campaign funds. These funds are used to assist local, county, and area residents that are experiencing financial limitations who otherwise might not be able to become members of the Y. With this generous donation our annual campaign program is now up to almost $46,000 with a goal of $58,000.
The Montgomery County Family YMCA and Red Oak Rotary Club are proud to work together towards making Red Oak and the surrounding area a better place to live and work in. We value their annual support with this project and the Y will be looking forward to doing this project again next July, 2017.
