Camp Foster of the Okobojis - for FREE?!

Montgomery County Family YMCA Press Release (Red Oak, Iowa) Friday, March 20th, 2015 .
The
Montgomery County Family YMCA is proud to announce that Camp Foster YMCA of the
Okobojis in Spirit Lake, Iowa is offering YOU an opportunity to win a free week
of camp for boys and girls ages 7–16. Three boys or girls will be selected to go to Camp Foster
YMCA either for Camp #1 for ages 7-12 held June 14th – June 20th, 2015 or
Camp #9 for ages 7-16 held
August 9th – 15th, 2015. Note: Busing service will just be from Camp Foster
YMCA to the Omaha Downtown YMCA, Omaha, NE for Camp #1 and roundtrip from Omaha
Downtown YMCA to Camp Foster YMCA, Spirit Lake and back to Omaha.
If you
would like an opportunity to win a free week at Camp Foster YMCA of the
Okobojis, please fill out an application and write a paragraph about why you
would like to attend camp.

Submit it
to the YMCA by Thursday April 23rd, 2015.
Winning
names will be drawn on Thursday, April 30th, 2015; all contestants will be
notified on their status of their application for the free week of camp at Camp
Foster YMCA of the Okobojis.

of caring, honesty, respect, responsibility, and fairness. For more details

Volunteers Needed!
by Kristi Potts on 03/05/15Listed below are two events that the YMCA is co-sponsoring with other community organizations. Volunteer help is need for both. Please let me know if you are able to help out with either or both events. 1. Shamrock Shuffle – Saturday, March 14th starting at 9 am The YMCA is co-sponsoring this event with the Friends Of The Red Oak Trails. Volunteer help is needed at the check-in table, finish line and out on the course. Registration or check-in starts at 8 am and the event is over by 10:30 am. Proceeds from the event are shared between the YMCA and FOTROT. 2. Kiwanis Club of Red Oak 6th Annual TRYathlon – Saturday, April 18th starting at 9 am The YMCA is helping coordinate this event along with Kiwanis Club & FOTROT. Volunteer help is needed at the check-in table, finish line and out on the course. Registration or check-in starts at 8 am and the event is usually over by 11:30 am. Volunteers sign up for two hour shifts if helping out on the course. The Kiwanis Club makes a donation from the proceeds of the event to the YMCA and FOTROT. The Y of the USA Honors the Carder and Wilson Families

In recognition of
their significant financial contributions to, and dedicated support of, the
Montgomery County Family YMCA of Red Oak, Iowa the Y of USA presented a plaque
and letter from the National Office in Chicago, IL honoring the late Charles &
Norma Wilson, Tom Carder, and the late Catherine Carder on Thursday, February
19th at the Board of Directors Meeting. Tom Carder and family
members from both families were present to receive their honors from the Y USA.

Every day, the Y
develops the potential of individuals and empowers them to create a better

Good Friday Breakfast

The Montgomery County Family YMCA in partnership
with the Montgomery County Family YMCA Men’s Thursday Bible Study Group and the
Montgomery County Ministerial Fellowship would like to invite you and your
family to the 4th Annual Good Friday Breakfast on Friday, April 3rd, 2015 at
6:30 am - 7:45 am in the YMCA’s multi-purpose room. Rev. David MacDonald from
Faith Community Church, Red Oak, Iowa will be the featured speaker with an
uplifting message. Kari Edie will be performing outstanding musical numbers
with a breakfast buffet to enjoy.
Please RSVP by Wednesday, April 1st, 2015 at 5 pm.

Package from Red Coach Inn & Restaurant and Montgomery County Family YMCA
of Red Oak, IA was won by Mary Marshall of Red Oak, IA as a Valentine’s Day
Appreciation Gift Promotion for being a current member of the YMCA. The drawing
was held on Tuesday, February 10th, 2014 for this special prize package.
The Red Oak Play & Stay Package
($200 Value) includes: a one night stay at the beautiful Red Coach Inn in Red
Oak, Iowa, a $30 food voucher at the Red Coach Restaurant, and their choice of
indoor tennis court time at the Montgomery County Family YMCA, 2 tickets to a
