GENERAL POSITION DESCRIPTION: the front desk staff is responsible for program registration, membership sales, answering telephone, greeting members and visitors. Person may assist with other related office duties as they present themselves. Relaying accurate and courteous membership and program information are necessary.
ENTRY REQUIREMENTS:
- Possess maturity to show good judgment in relating to members, guest and other staff members.
- Maintain a high level of enthusiasm and have the ability to deal effectively with the public at all times.
- Possess excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Have a high attention to detail and confidentiality.
- Ability to work independently and confidently to handle problem situations.
- Ability to work with diverse group of individuals.
- High School graduate.
- Good physical condition – able to lift 25 -50 lbs.
- CPR/First Aid Certification or willingness to obtain certification within 30 days of employment.

The 31th Annual Kiwanis Junior Closed Tennis Tournament was held on Saturday, July 19 as the final event of the YMCA’s 2014 summer youth tennis program. Participants took part in singles and doubles competition.

Children's Clothing Drive Going on NOW!

Drop by the YMCA to donate clothing for local area children for back to school!
Any children's clothing (infant - age 18) in good condition can be dropped off between July 14th - 28th down at the Y, the Red Oak High School office, and the Viking Wellness Center in Stanton.
The clothing giveaway will be held Tuesday, August 5th 9AM-1PM at the Inman Primary Cafeteria. Please call Abby @ 623-1943 if you have any questions!
YMCA Golf Benefit Tournament

The 2014 YMCA Fall Golf 18 Hole Four Person Best Ball Golf Tournament will take place on Saturday, September 20th, 2014 at the Red Oak Country Club in Red Oak, Iowa with a 9 a.m. shot gun start.
Join the fun of great golf that will include great flag prizes, betting holes, door prizes, luncheon and even prize money for the top teams in their respective golf flights. The event also has wonderful sponsorship golf hole opportunities and area businesses can donate prizes as well for flag and door prizes.
All proceeds will benefit the YMCA’s Annual Campaign “The Y. So Much More” program. This program assists youth, adults, older adults, single parent families and families in need of YMCA program and/or membership services, but are experiencing financial limitations. Also, proceeds subsidize many youth YMCA programs.

Clean Week Closing & Bulkeley Fitness Center Update

The Bulkeley Wellness/ Fitness Center will be closed Wednesday, August 6th - 9th, 2014 and for the entire clean week of August 11th – 17th. The YMCA will be closed the entire week of Monday, August 11th – Sunday, August 17th, 2014. The YMCA will re open on Monday, August 18th, 2014 at 5 a.m.
The YMCA is placing new efficient lighting up in the YMCA’s Bulkeley Wellness/ Fitness Center starting on Wednesday, the 6th of August. The walking/running track will still be open on August 6th, but will be closed Thursday through Saturday, August 7th - 9th, 2014 for the arrival of the equipment and flooring for the renovation project of the wellness & fitness center.
