March 2016
YMCA News for Immediate Release
Monday, March 8th, 2016 was the Annual Nebraska Tax Sale Day. Volunteers met in the YMCA’s Lobby at 6:15 am with 10 driving to the Sarpy County Administrative Building in Papillion, Nebraska and 16 volunteers to the Cass County Courthouse in Plattsmouth, NE. The Y earned over $2,000 For the Annual Campaign. Their efforts will help the YMCA move closer in reaching our annual campaign goal of $58,000 to honor our long lasting policy that “no one is denied membership or programming opportunities at the Montgomery County Family YMCA” should one be experiencing financial limitations. The campaign has raised early gifts of $15,000 and this year’s 2016 campaign “For a better us” will be reaching out to our past 2015 donors in the coming days. All YMCA members that were not donors in 2015 or just new members of the YMCA will receive information about the campaign in early summer of 2016.
The Tax Sale Volunteers Nick & Nancy Zimmer, Julie White, Perry Smith, John Blomstedt, Todd Gilleland, Bill & Mary Jane Gilbert, Larry & Faye Brandstetter, Al Nelson, Ron Crisp, Dennis & Susan Carlson, Ava Dorrance, Tom & Barb Burkhiser, Ellen Olson, Bill Jones, Karen Blue, Rev. Fred Pilecki, J.C. Blomstedt, Karla Hall, Gerry Lundgren, Mike Olson, Marg Thornburg, and Perry White will be recognized as the YMCA March Volunteers of the Month. The Iowa Tax Sale if you would like to assist is on Monday, June 6th, 2016.
