National Taxpayer Advocate Public Forum

Alvin LaMar (Enrolled Agent, Iowa Farm Business Association), Missy Stickland (YMCA Aquatics Program Director) who assisted the YMCA with host site day of activities, Varel Bailey (President, Bailey Farms, Inc.), Tamara Borland (Director, Low Income Taxpayer Clinic, Iowa Legal Aid), Kristy Maitre (Tax Specialist, Agricultural Education & Studies, Iowa State University), Nina E. Olson (National Taxpayer Advocate), Wendy Davis (VITA Program Coordinator, United Way of Wapello County).

The National Taxpayer Advocate Public Forum was recently held at the Montgomery County Family YMCA in Red Oak, Iowa on Thursday, May 5th, 2016 at the YMCA’s Multi-Purpose Room.

 Over 80 people throughout the southwest and south central Iowa region were at the forum where taxpayers voiced their wants and needs from the IRS in order to comply with tax obligations.  Local Taxpayer Advocate Service staff were on site to visit with forum attendees that might have had unresolved tax issues.

The forum lasted 1 ½ hours.
