“The Y. So Much More.” Annual Campaign Figures ARE IN!

by Kristi Potts on 01/19/16

The 2015 “The Y. So Much More.“ campaign raised $61,499 to surpass the campaign goal of $55,000. These funds supported community & area needs through YMCA services.
Red Oak, Iowa, January, 2016 – The Montgomery County Family YMCA’s Annual Campaign, “The Y. So Much More.” is designed so that everyone in Montgomery County and throughout the area has access to vital community/area programs and resources that support youth development, healthy living and social responsibility.
Every day, the Montgomery County Family YMCA works to support the people and neighborhoods that need it most by addressing community matters, such as fitness and healthy lifestyle for all ages, chronic health issues, school partnerships, and to serve as a center for social networking.
“Throughout Montgomery County, countless people know the “the Y”. But there’s so much more to our Y than one might think”, said Rudee DeMarce, YMCA Board of Director and chair of the 2015 Annual Campaign program. “The Y is more than a gym. It’s a cause. As a charity, we’re dedicated to nurturing the potential of every child and teen, improving the nation’s health and well-being, and giving back and providing support to our neighbors.”
The 2016 Montgomery County Family YMCA campaign goal is to raise $55,000 and the area residents, members of the YMCA, friends of the YMCA, were able to raise $61,499, the most ever funding raised for annual support in the 20 year history of the Montgomery County Family YMCA. DeMarce thanked everyone for their amazing support with all the donors, volunteers and YMCA staff making the 2015 campaign the most successful campaign in the 20 year history
of the Montgomery County Family YMCA.
Funds raised supported a wide range of activities from athletics, fitness, healthy living, youth development, social responsibilities to summer day camp programming. The Y doesn’t just strengthen bodies – it strengthens people, families and communities.
Year after year, charitable gifts from YMCA donors make it possible for kids to have a safe place to learn and build confidence after school; for families to reconnect and grow together; for members of the community of all ages, access to fitness education and training to reach their full potential. DeMarce mentioned that donor received the wonderful satisfaction of knowing that they helped someone enjoy YMCA services that truly needs assistance to be involved with youth programming and to keep programs affordable for everyone to be able to participate in. The Montgomery County Family YMCA has had in place for 20 years the policy that “no one will be denied membership or programming opportunity due to financial limitations.
The first quarter of the new year when preparing one’s taxes is a great time to support area non-profits like the YMCA and many other local worthwhile organizations. The donor receives their year-end tax contribution opportunities in working with a 501 (c ) not for profit organizations.
