Montgomery County Family YMCA Press Release

(Red Oak, Iowa)

September, 2014

The YMCA Youth and Government Conference on National Affairs for 2015 will be June 27th – July 2nd, 2015 at the YMCA Blue Ridge Assembly in Black Mountain, North Carolina. The deadline to submit an application for high school students grades 9- 11 in Iowa is December 19th, 2014.

YMCA Youth and Government (YAG) is one of the largest civic engagement and model government programs in the nation with over 50,000 student participants representing their schools and communities each year. YAG offers unusual opportunities for a young person to do research in the area of National and International concern; to organize this information into a documented proposal; to engage in intensive discussion and to debate these proposals with understanding young people from other states.

The application and more information about the conference can be found on the website www.ymcaona.org, by contacting Nick Zimmer, YMCA Executive Director at 712-623-2161 Ext. 13, stopping in at the Montgomery County Family YMCA located at the beautiful Red Oak Legion Park, 101 East Cherry Street, Red Oak, Iowa, or by emailing Nick at execdir@mcymca.com.
