Montgomery County Family YMCA Press Release (Red Oak, Iowa)
April, 2016
The Montgomery County Community Foundation Advisory Board recently informed the Montgomery County Family YMCA that the YMCA’s spring grant submission will be awarded grant funding in the amount of $20,000 which will be presented to the YMCA on Thursday, April 21st, 2016 at the Montgomery County Court House with other county agencies earning grants as well.
This grant will assist the Montgomery County Family YMCA to better serve our 2,500 members of all ages, backgrounds, and communities within Montgomery County. The funds will be used towards a new water heater to assist with heating our water for showers and assisting with our aquatic center needs, new plastic lockers for our special needs locker room to complete our renovation project of all plastic lockers for low maintenance needs, and also to install a new floor for our stairs to the YMCA’s indoor track, wellness center, and fitness center. This area is one of the most used floors in the YMCA with high traffic. These changes will allow members to develop in the areas of:
Social Responsibility
Healthy Living
Youth Development
Our mission is to subsidize individual, youth, and family programs that the YMCA offers to help create youth development, healthy living, and social responsibility for residents in our community, county, and area.
The Montgomery County Family YMCA once again wishes to thank all the members of the Foundation Board along with the Community Foundations of Southwest Iowa staff for their time and willingness to help administer this program to truly make impressive impacts by funding so many outstanding and wonderful programs to many worthwhile organizations within our county.
