YMCA NEWS RELEASE

Monday, March 25th, 2013

The Montgomery County Family YMCA of Red Oak, Iowa recently learned that the YMCA was a recipient of a $10,000 Montgomery County Community Foundation Advisory Grant made possible by the Montgomery County HF 2302 Grant Fund.

This grant will be used to enhance members of the YMCA and guest experience with new plastic lockers that will be a phased in project over the next two to possibly three years for all three locker rooms of the Montgomery County Family YMCA’s men’s / boy’s , women’s / girl’s and family special needs locker rooms. The new plastic lockers will enhance our all our members and guests experience of all ages while using and enjoying the Montgomery County Family YMCA. The new lockers are maintenance free so will assist the YMCA in lowering some maintenance cost for repairs and care of the current metal lockers that are approaching 13 years of facility usage.

The goal of the Montgomery County Community Foundation grant program is to improve the quality of life in the county by supporting needs that are not being met in the areas of civic, cultural, health education, and social service.

The YMCA wants to thank all the members of the Foundation Board along with Community Foundations of Southwest Iowa staff for their time and willingness to help administer this program to truly make impressive impacts with so many outstanding and wonderful programs in funding too many worthwhile organizations within our county.

The Montgomery County Community Foundation works with individuals, families, businesses and organizations to create permanent funds that address the changing, vital community needs and interests.
